Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing staff accountable for leading projects and coordination of the Medicaid regulations and program changes; training and oversight of the Medicaid staff performing this work; monitoring of operational functions performed internally and externally; implementation, tracking and monitoring of Medicaid requirements to ensure compliance; and developing and maintaining Medicaid policies and procedures. The position is the pharmacist for Medicaid and assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of the prescription drug benefit, including formulary administration, clinical compliance and quality adherence.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Registered Pharmacist in the state or eligible for licensure.
  • 5 years’ related experience
  • 1 year experience in a managerial/leadership capacity
  • Managed care experience.
  • Experience using window based word processing, spreadsheet and relational database software.
  • Drug information skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of practice guidelines or practice parameters; pharmacoeconomics; quality improvement processes and techniques.
  • Knowledge of medication use evaluation principles.
  • Leadership skills.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • People management experience.
  • Knowledge of system operations (testing, system changes, etc.).
  • Background in administration of State and Federal Government contracts.
